Day 1: Flight into Serengeti

Be welcomed by our representative at Kilimanjaro airport and transfer for your domestic flight into the Serengeti (depending flight arrival, overnight might be required in Arusha). You naturalist guide will be expecting you at the airstrip and game viewing starts on the way to your safari camp.

Day 2 – 4: Ubuntu Camp

Ubuntu Camp is a small, seasonal camp located in the Serengeti National Park. It moves with the Great Wildebeest Migration across the Serengeti and consistently offers spectacular game viewing opportunities.

The camp itself is an intimate, traditional canvas safari camp designed to give you as much of an under-the-skin Serengeti adventure experience as a truly authentic and comfortable one. A close-knit team of friendly Tanzanians ensure that traditional hospitality, great food and a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere remains at the heart of Ubuntu Camp.

Wildlife viewing and bird watching game drives in open vehicles are offered twice per day. Experienced guides encourage guests to see and experience the Serengeti through their eyes, sharing a world of small and large wonders that only they truly know and understand.  Guests can arrange full days in the bush with picnic lunches or shorter excursions returning to enjoy the tranquility of camp.

Day 5: Flight to Zanzibar

Depart camp and make your way to the airstrip for your flight by  plane to the island of Zanzibar.  The Zanzibar Archipelago, located in the Indian Ocean 15 miles off the coast of Tanzania, is a breathtaking spot to escape from the world. You’ll enjoy clear, turquoise-blue water, shallow sandbars perfect for wading  and many small, nearly deserted islands. Explore the World Heritage Site of Stone Town, Zanzibar City’s old quarter. Settle into your luxury suite.

Day 6-11: Zanzibar Magic

Or leave your sanctuary to stroll along the fine sand beaches. Relax on the beach, take a guided village tour, reef walk or choose from the many optional activities this  resort has on offer. Settle into your luxury suite overlooking the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean.

Here the tides govern the rhythm of the day. At high tide the fisherman stream across the lagoon in their billowing dhows, delivering a dream opportunity for any photographer – and the lodge is a daily stop for the fishermen who sell fresh crab, lobster and fish to Matemwe for lunches and dinners. At low tide the sea goes right out making the lagoon too shallow for swimming but it does reveal a fascinating reef which you can explore for hours.

Day 12: Depart Resort

Spend the morning relaxing after which you will be transferred to Zanzibar airport.
