On arrival at the Kasane Airport you will be warmly welcomed by one of the Chobe Game Lodge guides and transferred by open game drive vehicle to Chobe Game Lodge. Spend three nights at Chobe Game Lodge in our luxurious honeymoon suite complete with private patio and plunge pool facing the Chobe River. With daily game drives and exciting river safaris on offer, Chobe Game Lodge is the perfect start to your Botswana adventure. The lodge offers a variety of luxuries allowing you to take the necessary time to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The honeymoon package includes a sunrise breakfast cruise on the Chobe River for a chance to take in the tranquillity of the Chobe River in the early morning.

Botswana is well known for having some of the best wilderness and wildlife areas on the African continent. With almost 40% of its land area devoted to national parks, reserves and wildlife management areas you can travel through many parts of the country has the feeling of moving through an immense Nature wonderland. The first – and most lasting impressions – will be of vast expanses of uninhabited wilderness stretching from horizon to horizon, the sensation of limitless space, astoundingly rich wildlife and bird viewing, night skies littered with stars and heavenly bodies of an unimaginable brilliance, and stunning sunsets of unearthly beauty. Experience here the stunning beauty of the world’s largest intact inland Delta – the Okavango; the unimaginable vastness of the world’s second largest game reserve – the Central Kalahari Game Reserve; the isolation and other-worldliness of the Makgadikgadi – uninhabited pans the size of Portugal; and the astoundingly prolific wildlife of the Chobe National Park. Chobe River Front
The Chobe River forms the northern boundary of the Chobe National Park, renowned for its diverse and abundant game viewing opportunities. This section of the park is best known for its dense concentration of wildlife including elephant and hippo populations, but the waters attract all manner of game including large herds of buffalo and the lions that prey on them. A visit to this area guarantees close encounters with an array of African wildlife. Visitors can look forward to some exciting activities such as: driving along the game-dotted river banks in a 4WD; cruising along the river in a motorboat, spotting rare birdlife and for a unique, luxury safari experience, hire a houseboat.

Counter-balancing the wilderness are

Each of Chobe Game Lodge’s 4 luxury suites has an individual plunge pool set on a private terrace with breathtaking panoramic views of the endless landscape and open plains. Honeymoon Suite
The most private location in the lodge and the chosen suite for famous honeymoon couple Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton in 1975, the elegant Honeymoon Suite is ideal for couples looking to spoil themselves while on their Chobe safari with a touch of romance and complete privacy.
The Honeymoon Suite has a similar layout to the luxury family suites, with a large private terrace, infinity plunge pool and large, relaxing sun-loungers from which to soak up the Chobe views.

Day Itinerary
After your final morning activity at Chobe Game Lodge, you head back to Kasane Airport for your light aircraft transfer to Camp Moremi in the Moremi Game Reserve. Your light aircraft flight will offer you an introduction to the Okavango Delta as you witness the vastness of the world heritage site from the air. Landing at the Moremi airstrip, your guide will meet you and transfer you by road to Camp Moremi where you can settle into your luxurious tent. You will spend the next three nights at Camp Moremi enjoying game drives and boating excursions as you search for the prolific wildlife that inhabits the Moremi Game Reserve. Your honeymoon package includes a private dinner setup in a remote location of the lodge where you can take in the lodge’s romantic bushveld setting.
Moremi Game Reserve
The amazing foresight of Chief Moremi created one of the world’s most famous reserves, conserving part of the Okavango Delta and the plains to its east. The reserve covers more than 4871 square kilometres of pristine wilderness, and the varied terrain includes savannah, winding waterways, and thick forest. This diversity supports an incredibly wide spectrum of wildlife, ranging from large herds of buffalo, wildebeest and zebra, to the rare sitatunga and lechwe antelope, and lion, cheetah and packs of wild dog in the open grasslands. The birdlife is prolific and includes most of the 550 bird species recorded on the Botswana national bird list.

Peering out beneath giant ebony trees, Camp Moremi brings true meaning to the word safari in the Xaxanaka area of the Moremi Game Reserve. Enjoy a final morning game drive in the Moremi Game Reserve before your light aircraft transfer to Camp Okavango, a remote lodge on a private concession in the heart of the Okavango Delta. Originally built in 1982, Camp Okavango is one of the original safari camps on the Okavango Delta. Now rebuilt as an all new luxury safari lodge, Camp Okavango is the perfect base from which to experience the Okavango Delta. Here you will spend the next two nights exploring the intricacies of the Okavango Delta from a variety of activities including mokoro excursions, boating safaris and guided bush walks. Your honeymoon package includes a 60-minute helicopter scenic flight including a private romantic champagne sundowner on a remote island in the Okavango Delta.

Lying in the middle of the largest expanse of sand on earth the Okavango Delta is one of Africa’s most amazing, sensitive and complex environments supporting a spectacle of wilderness and wildlife. Unique as one of the world’s few inland deltas, the placid waters and lush indigenous forests offer a safe haven for innumerable bird and wildlife species. Camp Okavango, a unique and exclusive African safari camp is situated on the remote Nxaragha Island. This hidden treasure, in the heart of the permanent Okavango Delta, assures its guests of an unparalleled year-round water wilderness experience.
Camp Okavango’s main area comprises of a network of interconnected walkways linking up two lounge areas, a dining room, library, self-service bar and curio shop. Sweeping ramps lead to the lower level deck with two open-air fire pits and comfortable seating areas to relax and take in the natural surroundings. Day 9: Leroo La Tau, Boteti River – Makgadikgadi Pans National Park
Day Itinerary
Your final stop for of your honeymoon package is Leroo La Tau. You will catch a light aircraft from Camp Okavango to Leroo La Tau before transferring by road the lodge, set on the banks of the Boteti River, overlooking the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. You will spend the next two nights at Leroo La Tau enjoying daily game drives along the Boteti River to witness the prolific wildlife that frequent the region. Option excursions to the nearby Khumaga village are also available for a chance to experience Botswana’s unique culture. As a final farewell gift, you will enjoy a traditional Setswana blessing with the staff at Leroo La Tau and members of the khumaga community. After your two-night stay at Leroo la Tau you will be transferred by light aircraft to Maun for your onward journey.
Boteti River – Makgadikgadi Pans National Park
On the western boundary of the renowned Makgadikgadi Pans National Park lies the Boteti River. Owing to the arid nature of the park, the river and the nutrient-rich western grasslands supply the essential water and sustenance for the wildlife that inhabit the region. The Makgadikgadi Pans National Park is home to the second largest zebra migration in the world, where thousands of zebra migrate to the Boteti River in the dry winter months (May to Oct) from their summer grazing ground further inside the park. The fascinating contrast between the Boteti River and arid national park makes it a fascinating region to include in any Botswana safari.
